Break My Heart For A Broken World

It's easy to say that this world is broken. It's easy to say this world is evil. But how are we focusing on heart and minds on God to see Him move in the brokenness?

We live in a world marked by brokenness—pain, suffering, and a desperate need for the hope that only Jesus Christ can bring. Yet, in the midst of this darkness, God is moving in mighty ways. His heart is not just for those who already know Him, but also for those who are far from Him, those who are wandering and lost. The mission of Christ has never been about comfort or complacency; it has always been about reaching the lost, even when it comes at great cost.
When Jesus sent out His disciples, He warned them that they were being sent out as sheep among wolves (Matthew 10:16). Why? Because that’s where the lost sheep are. The places where darkness seems impenetrable are the very places where the light of Christ is needed most. The lost are not always found in the safety of church walls or Christian communities; they are in the places where persecution is real, where following Christ is dangerous, and where faith costs more than just a Sunday morning commitment.
I have felt my heart stirred recently as I have seen God move in ways I cannot ignore. It has made me reflect on how easy it is in the Western world to become complacent in our faith. We go to church freely, without fear for our safety. We have access to an endless supply of sermons on YouTube, worship music on Spotify, and the Bible at our fingertips through an app. We are blessed beyond measure with religious freedom, yet we often find ourselves lukewarm, content to be spectators rather than active participants in God’s mission.
But the truth is, God has called us to more. The question is not whether God is moving—because He is. The question is whether we will participate in what He is doing or simply watch from the sidelines. Are we willing to let our hearts be broken for the things that break God’s heart? Are we willing to step out of our comfort zones to bring the gospel to the lost, the hurting, and the persecuted?
I invite you to join me in asking God to stir our hearts, to awaken our spirits from the ease of the Western world, and to make us unapologetic about our faith. Life is so short, and we are called to be vessels for Christ. When God is moving in such mighty ways, why would we not want to be a part of it?
Let’s pray for boldness, for compassion, and for a relentless pursuit of the lost. May we not just hear about God’s work around the world but actively join in, bringing His love to the places where it is needed most. May we become the hands and feet of Christ, reaching into the brokenness.
